The continuous improvement of environmental performance and avoidance of environmental pollution, as well as compliance with the applicable environmental requirements, is one of the objectives of the KAJO Group.
In doing so, we want to think about the world of tomorrow - the promotion of environmental protection - as well as the reduction of environmental pollution and, above all, compliance with the applicable environmental requirements.
EU Ecolabel
EU Ecolabel
The Ecolabel is an international seal of quality that was introduced by the European Commission in 1992 and is recognised by all member states of the European Union as well as Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland. The European Ecolabel identifies particularly environmentally friendly products and is therefore a further step towards environmental protection and health. In product group 027 - lubricants - the KAJO BIO 2050 saw chain adhesive oil was the first product to be awarded the Ecolabel. Many more followed and will follow!
SP List
SP List - Swedish Standard
The so-called SP list is maintained by the Swedish RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (formerly SP - Statens Provningsanstalt) and serves as a positive list for environmentally friendly lubricants that may be used in sensitive areas such as forestry, the construction industry or in water protection areas.
Products on the SP list must meet strict requirements for biodegradability, toxicological safety and low environmental impact.
Blue Angel
Blue Angel
Introduced by the German government in 1978 to protect people and the environment, the first Blue Angel for saw chain adhesive oils was awarded in 1988. KAJO was one of the first three manufacturers to be awarded the Blue Angel for its BIO saw chain adhesive oil.
In the meantime, the award criteria have been revised and tightened several times: KAJO has always been able to fulfil all requirements! Products with the Blue Angel - you are actively helping to protect the environment and ensure a better future!
KWF
KWF - The Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology
The Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology has been analysing developments in the fields of occupational safety, environmental protection and process engineering for 60 years and makes this knowledge available to the public.
Its work is practice-orientated, with the main focus on safety, innovation and environmental protection. Products are tested by the KWF for their suitability for use - this test is also part of the basis for awarding the Blue Angel.
OSPAR
OSPAR
OSPAR is the regional convention for the protection of the marine environment of the North-East Atlantic. Among other things, it defines environmental standards for chemicals and lubricants that may be used in offshore applications - such as oil and gas production at sea.
Products with OSPAR approval fulfil strict ecological requirements with regard to biodegradability, toxicity and accumulation in the environment.
BioPreferred
BioPreferred® Programme
The BioPreferred® programme is an initiative of the US Department of Agriculture(USDA) that promotes the use of bio-based products. The aim is to support the use of renewable raw materials and reduce the environmental impact of petrochemical products.
Products with USDA BioPreferred® certification contain a defined minimum percentage of bio-based ingredients and have been independently tested and registered.
Some of our lubricants are listed in the BioPreferred® programme - as proof of a high proportion of renewable raw materials and our commitment to sustainable product solutions.
